Film Madrid to Make Debut at AFCI Week 2024 in Los Angeles

The AFCI Week 2024 has attracted a record number of attendees from the Global Film Commission representing 35 countries, establishing itself as a new benchmark for international participation.

The event, which will take place from August 25 to 28, is designed to foster unique connections within the audiovisual industry, create sales opportunities, facilitate professional growth, and inspire collaboration across various levels of the sector.

Film Madrid will be attending the AFCI Week 2024 for the first time. This event is organized by the Association of Film Commissioners International (AFCI), whose mission is to advocate, connect, and educate to help film commissions and businesses drive economic development, build strong infrastructure, and ensure that professional activities are fair, sustainable, and socially diverse worldwide.

She emphasized that AFCI Week is an opportunity to shape the future of the audiovisual & entertainment sector, whether through dynamic working groups, insightful panels, inspiring keynote speeches, or exclusive networking events. It’s also a great chance to meet professionals who are specifically focused on working on projects within a global network.

This year, AFCI is introducing a new feature: The Film Industry Challenge, an interactive workshop designed to leverage the collective expertise of members, producers, studio executives, and location managers. The workshop will allow for in-depth discussions, debates, and sessions on the most pressing challenges facing the industry today, such as artificial intelligence, technology, and the use of filming locations.
