This represents a growth compared to previous years, especially in the case of tv series, with 11 projects more than 2021 (16,2% more).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The city of Madrid stands out as the main filming location in the region. According to the data from Madrid Film Office, the Office for Film Promotion from Madrid City Council,&nbsp;<strong>the capital hosted the filming of more than 860 projects, among them 47 feature films, 66 tv series and more than 380 spots<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Madrid. A city, a region\" width=\"750\" height=\"422\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/7YaZ1Xmqo54?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>This growth is a consequence of a political commitment to protect, facilitate and encourage filming, a great variety and versatility of locations, film sets, animation and VFX studios, a wide network of infrastructures, a strong crew-base and creative proffesionals, and more than 3,000 companies in the audiovisual sector, which generate employment for a large number of professionals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Among the feature films shot in the region, major national and international productions stand out, such as\u00a0<strong><em>Padre no hay m\u00e1s que uno 3<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0directed by Santiago Segura, the film with the highest box office revenue this past year according to ICAA data, or\u00a0<strong><em>Todos los nombres de Dios<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0by Daniel Calparsoro, which includes some impressive scenes shot on a closed Gran V\u00eda, the main avenue than crosses the of Madrid. Likewise, the region was choosen has the filming loaction of high quality and Prestige films that have opted for awards such as the 2023 Goya Awards, as\u00a0<em><strong>En los m\u00e1rgenes<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0by Juan Diego Boto,\u00a0<strong><em>Mant\u00edcora<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0by Carlos Vermut,\u00a0<em><strong>Cinco Lobitos<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0by Alauda Ruiz de Arz\u00faa or\u00a0<em><strong>La consagraci\u00f3n de la primavera<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0by Fernando Franco. Some are adaptations of big literary successes such as&nbsp;<strong><em>Reina Roja<\/em><\/strong>, based on the novels by Juan G\u00f3mez Jurado, and&nbsp;<strong><em>La novia gitana<\/em><\/strong>&nbsp;and its sequel,&nbsp;<em><strong>La red purpura<\/strong><\/em>, which bring the book series written by Carmen Mola to the screen.&nbsp;<strong><em>\u00a1Garc\u00eda!<\/em><\/strong>, nominated for Best International Series at the Critics Choice Awards, and&nbsp;<strong><em>Mentiras pasajeras<\/em><\/strong>, the second series produced by El Deseo, the production company of the Almod\u00f3var brothers, have also been shot in Madrid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Such is the attractiveness and versatility of Madrid\u2019s locations that the community had various international projects with big-name films such as\u00a0<strong><em>Uncharted\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>directed by Rub\u00e9n Fleischer (USA) and starring Tom Holland, Marc Wahlberg and Antonio Banderas,\u00a0<em><strong>American carnage<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0by Diego Hallivis (USA). As well as international series such as\u00a0<em><strong>The warrior nun 2<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0(USA),\u00a0<strong><em>In front the cold<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0(USA),\u00a0<strong><em>The Things that we did not say \/ Toutes ces choses qu\u00b4on ne s\u00b4est pas<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0(France), or\u00a0<strong><em>Kaos<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0(UK).
