{"id":875,"date":"2022-03-04T11:08:34","date_gmt":"2022-03-04T10:08:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/filmmadrid.com\/noticias\/?p=875"},"modified":"2022-03-04T11:12:51","modified_gmt":"2022-03-04T10:12:51","slug":"next-lab-2022-awards-best-projects","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/filmmadrid.com\/noticias\/next-lab-2022-awards-best-projects\/","title":{"rendered":"Next Lab 2022 awards best projects"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The international animation workshop held the pitch project event with the support of the Community of Madrid.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The feature film&nbsp;<em>Oblivion<\/em>&nbsp;by Argentine&nbsp;Claudia Ruiz&nbsp;and the short film&nbsp;<em>Lumen<\/em>&nbsp;by Spanish&nbsp;Enric Sant&nbsp;are the winning projects of the second edition of Next Lab, the benchmark workshop for the animation sector. The list of winners is completed by <em>Viaje al Bosque Olvidado<\/em>, a feature film by Noelia Mar\u00eda Mui\u00f1o, and the series <em>Onion &amp;<\/em> Pea by Jos\u00e9 Manuel Villena together with David Tomaselli, the two special mentions for Spanish projects given this 2022. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Four proposals in total that get direct access to their international presentation at the Annecy Festival (France). This specialized workshop, which delves into the use of new disruptive technologies to improve production processes, thus completes seven weeks of online and on-site work where 11 of the 20 selected projects entered the final phase held at the Talent Garden Madrid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The jury, made up of top professionals such as Arnaud Miquel, Carmen C\u00f3rdoba, Manuel Gonz\u00e1lez, Nick Ladd and \u00darsula Garc\u00eda, highlighted the quality of the award-winning works such as Oblivion, a harsh story set in the 1950s, marked by a kidnapping and an episode of abuse that comes to light. The participant in this project was animation director Ana In\u00e9s Flores, an Argentinean animator with extensive international training and work for such prominent clients as Cartoon Network, Adidas and TicTac; the animator currently works at the Digital Sun video game studio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"312\" src=\"https:\/\/filmmadrid.com\/noticias\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/nextlab-ganadores2022.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-833\" srcset=\"https:\/\/filmmadrid.com\/noticias\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/nextlab-ganadores2022.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/filmmadrid.com\/noticias\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/nextlab-ganadores2022-500x156.jpg 500w, https:\/\/filmmadrid.com\/noticias\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/nextlab-ganadores2022-768x240.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>On the other hand, <em>Lumen <\/em>is a short film by Enric Sant about a small luminous being who decides to leave his known territory to investigate further. Sant, its creator, comes from urban art and graffiti; and with more than 10 years of experience in the digital industry, he is currently dedicated to art direction and production design in animation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The novelty of this 2022 edition are two special mentions for Spanish projects that have been given to the feature film <em>Viaje al Bosque Olvidado <\/em>by Noelia Mar\u00eda Mui\u00f1o Gonz\u00e1lez and the series <em>Onion &amp; Pea<\/em> by David Tomaselli and Jos\u00e9 M. Villena. Mui\u00f1o Gonz\u00e1lez&#8217;s work travels to rural Galicia in the 90&#8217;s where Paula, the main character, rediscovers her relationship with her brother Pablo, who has Down syndrome, through a fantastic world. On February Friday 25th and Saturday 26th, the Talent Garden Madrid was the venue for the various conferences, networking activities and the pitching of the finalist projects that took part in the workshop. This implies having a very high capacity to react,\u00bb says Jos\u00e9 Luis Farias, its director.
